A Wonderful Year of Yoga & Meditation

by pamelawright on December 28, 2013

This has been a wonderful year for me! What about you?  About a year and a half ago I took a new job as a trial lawyer and have been super busy ever since.  I love my work but it has its challenges.  It is super crisis driven so I’ve had to step up my wellness game to stay on top of being healthy.

One thing I know for sure is that yoga has helped me with the pressures of my job.  I go to an amazing kundalini yoga class in Hollywood practically weekly.  It’s a wonderful thing because kundalini yoga is for the heart, mind, body, soul & spirit.  This is an ancient technology that brings you stress relief, relaxation, good health, peace, happiness, and more.  Here’s a great article about the benefits of yoga and meditation evolving out of a Harvard research study…  http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-22/harvard-yoga-scientists-find-proof-of-meditation-benefit.html

Every day I find myself incorporating things from yoga into my everyday life.  I am particularly fond of the relaxing breath that you can do anywhere 24/7 to bring you more peace.  You inhale through your nose counting to 5 silently, hold that breath counting to 5 silently, and exhale through your mouth counting to 5 silently.  I use this breath at home, at the office, and anywhere else I need it. It helps me relax in times of stress and that makes me feel better.

I’m looking forward to an amazing & wonderful 2014! What about you?  What do you want to see happen in your life in 2014?  I suggest you take some time this weekend to journal about that.  You could also paint, photograph, and/or draw it if you want.  Whatever you do… have fun visualizing your 2014!

Happy New Year!
