Real Life Success Secrets: A Close-up Look at Billionaire Anne McKevitt

by pamelawright on November 11, 2011

How does a girl who grew up in a financially poor family in Scotland become a billionaire?  Well, here’s my insight after spending two days this week learning from billionaire Anne McKevitt at her Business Evolution Strategy Summit in Los Angeles.

Anne McKevitt is well known in the UK.  Why?  Well, she happens to be the UK’s Martha Stewart.   I got to spend two days with Anne this week at her Business Evolution Strategy Summit in LA.  She spent countless hours with her attendees sharing her success secrets and answering questions (honestly… she was super real, down-to-earth, and generous with her time).  At times I felt like I was on the Apprentice (because of the group exercises) and at other times I felt like I was in the best class ever!

This wasn’t the first time I had encountered Anne.  Last year, I got a rare opportunity to take a series of teleclasses with Anne about PR, branding, and money mindset.  During one of the classes, I volunteered to be coached by Anne and she gave me some great tips for my life and business!

After meeting Anne in person and spending two days with her, I learned a few things to say the least.  Anne sees business as a game.  She plays to WIN and has fun with it!  Anne believes she can do anything… and SHE does.  She views mistakes and failure as part of the game.  So, she learns from them and MOVES on.  I love when she says, “You gotta get on with it!”

Honestly, Anne’s lack of fear about doing things reminds me of David’s mindset when he volunteered to fight Goliath.  David didn’t fear Goliath because he knew God had his back.  Anne’s doesn’t focus on fear so she doesn’t live in the fear zone.  She focuses on action and strategy.  As a result, she conquers her challenges!

You can learn more about Anne’s story at http://www.annemckevitt.com/#/about/ .  When she left home after high school, she headed to London and got a job working with John Frieda.  John trained Anne to be a hairstylist.  As a result, she soon found herself working in the fashion industry and with top celebrities.  In her early 20s, she got into real estate development by buying, renovating and selling property.  Anne has a gift for design and soon became a big hit!  This led to her television show and creation of countless home design products.  If you check out her website, you’ll definitely be inspired by all her great work and humanitarian deeds!

This week Anne taught us so many things including mapping out what it takes to reach our goals and taking action consistently.  This process of mapping out what it takes and taking action consistently until it’s done really is a universal success strategy.  Do you want to eat healthier, drop pounds, or relax naturally at night?  Next year would you like to make more money in your  business so you can take your family on a Hawaiian vacation?  Or, would you be happy just figuring out a formula to help your son who has ADHD get his homework done?  Whatever your goal… committing to this process will help you achieve it!

So, are you ready to get on with it?

That’s awesome, Pat! I am so inspired by Anne’s approach. She doesn’t wait for opportunities to come her way, she goes out and creates opportunities. And since she believes she can do anything… SHE does!

You’re welcome, Elvie! I am in Wow Land over getting to learn so much from Anne at this conference. I had never heard of Anne either… until last year on the internet. Honestly, I was amazed at how down-to-earth Anne was throughout the 2-day conference. She’s a tough, tough deal maker like Donald Trump but she’s also very, very down-to-earth!
