<p>Good morning!  How are you?  Hope all is well! : )</p>
<p>Today, I&#8217;m going for a morning walk through Garfield Park!  I just love that place.  It&#8217;s filled with beautiful trees and fragrant roses.  I walk there practically every day.  </p>
<p>Walking is a wonderful way to get daily exercise and it&#8217;s good for you.  Additionally, it feels good after you&#8217;re done.  No matter how tired I am when I start, I always feel better by the end of my walk.  What about you?</p>

<p>As you get ready for the second quarter, here&#8217;s a question to think about this weekend.  &#8220;What goals do you wanna accomplish in the second quarter?&#8221;  Whether you have one or twenty-one, write it down in your journal.  Then, on a big sheet of white paper, map out what you need to do to accomplish this goal.  Be Faithful, Take Action, Persevere &#038; Good Luck!  </p>

<p>I have found that counting calories is key to natural weight loss!  What about you?  Do you count calories?  </p>
<p>I know there&#8217;s so many views about counting calories.  All I can say about that is&#8230; counting calories helped me lose over 29 lbs naturally!  There are periods of time during the year when I am challenged with emotional eating.  For me&#8230; I have to stay aware around the holidays particularly Christmas.  And even if I&#8217;m doing well calorie wise during Christmas I find the first quarter of the year can be challenging as I&#8217;m processing feelings that have arisen from Christmas. </p>
<p>In addition to certain holidays, I also have to stay aware of my eating when I&#8217;m going through emotional situations in my life (ie relationships, business related, etc.).  Since I&#8217;m an emotional eater at times, counting calories helps me stay on track.  I&#8217;m not one who can just eat til she&#8217;s satisfied and stop because when I&#8217;m feeling emotional I can snack on carbs all day&#8230; and not feel satisfied.  Do you know what I mean?  So, planning my meals and counting calories as I go helps me stay on track.  Whenever I fall off track for whatever reason, getting back on track for me starts with counting calories.  It&#8217;s my secret tool for natural weight loss! : )</p>

<p>How do you like to unwind in the evening?  Do you like to stretch?  I have found stretching to be a wonderful way for me to start winding down &#038; relaxing in the evening.  </p>
<p>After working all day, I find stress tends to accumulate in my muscles.  Stretching is one of the few things that helps me release stress from my muscles.  Tonight, I&#8217;m going to take 5-10 minutes to stretch.  I like stretching from a standing position and from sitting on the floor.  How do you like to stretch?</p>
<p>One of the essential oils I like to use during my evening stretch is Frankincense.  It calms my nerves and helps me relax more quickly while stretching.  What about you?  Do you have a favorite essential oil you like to wear while you&#8217;re stretching?  </p>
<p>It&#8217;s almost 8:15 pm PST in Los Angeles, so my goal is to stretch by 8:30 pm PST.  Sometimes, I have to set goals like this one, otherwise, I&#8217;ll get busy doing something else on my to do list.  It&#8217;s a beautiful night for an evening stretch so I&#8217;m going to make it happen.  After I stretch, I always feel better</p>

<div align="left">Lavender Salt Scrub (you can use any type of salt scrub that has lavender in it)</div>
<div align="left">Lavender Candle (you can substitute another scented candle that you like) </div>

<div align="left">Once you have the ingredients, here&#8217;s what you&#8217;ll do with them.  Light your lavender candle (<em>you can substitute another kind of scented candle for the lavender candle</em>) and put it on the counter in your bathroom.  Take a relaxing bath or shower.  If you&#8217;re taking a bath then put some drops of lavender oil in your bath water.  Next, put the lavender salt scrub all over your body while taking your bath or shower.  Once you&#8217;re in bed, rub a few drops of lavender oil on the soles of your feet before you go to sleep.  Get ready for a good night&#8217;s sleep.  Sweet dreams!</div>

<p>We&#8217;re almost done with February! Can you believe it? That means we only have 10 more months left to achieve our 2012 goals!! : )</p>
<p>How are things going for you in 2012? Did you set any goals? I know some people don&#8217;t like setting goals but I like setting them. Setting goals gives me clarity and that clarity helps me take the steps necessary to acheive my goals.</p>
<p>Going to law school, getting married, running a business, having children and losing weight all arose out of my goals. Here&#8217;s my 7-step plan for achieving your goals:</p>

<p>This week I was thinking how important it is to refresh our spirit every day.  I don&#8217;t know about you but I deal with stress every day.  I imagine you do too!</p>
<p>I used to wish for a stress-free life and then I came to the realization that stress is simply a part of life.    I&#8217;ve found that life is inherently filled with things that can cause stress depending on how you respond (ie working, managing your home, running a biz, helping your kids with their homework, communicating in relationships, etc.) to the situation, event or circumstance.  What do you think?</p>
<p>In my journey to manage stress I&#8217;ve come to the conclusion that the examination of stress alone is not enough.  We must go deeper and exam the meaning we give to things that happen in our lives.  Have you noticed that how you perceive something makes all the difference?   The attachment of a good, bad or neutral meaning can change your world.  </p>
<p>Well, here&#8217;s a quick list of 7 things you can do to refresh your spirit every day (<em>pick one or more</em>):</p>
<ul>
<li>Go for a walk</li>
<li>Pray</li>
<li>Read inspiring quotes </li>
<li>Light a fragrant candle</li>
<li>Put on essential oil</li>

I was standing in the supermarket line late Tuesday night and noticed the Hollywood tabloids were hot on the trail of the latest celebrity divorces, break ups and separations. I thought how stressful that must be for the parties involved and their children. After handling divorces for over ten years, I can confirm that the divorce process is a very difficult experience for most people. So, I can only imagine how challenging it must be for those going through it under the Hollywood spotlight and scrutiny of so many people who want to judge them.</p>
<p>In California there&#8217;s definitely no shortage of people getting divorced. The lines to get in the courthouse in the morning are long and many of the family law litigants are representing themselves these days because they cannot afford an attorney. Through the years I&#8217;ve come to know that divorce can happen to anyone regardless of their economic status or religious affiliation. I&#8217;ve represented the very wealthy and the not so wealthy. I&#8217;ve also represented people who go to church regularly and people who do not.</p>
<p>After ten+ years of handling divorces I can tell you this&#8230; divorce does not discriminate. It affects the lives of countless people every year who have nothing in common other than the fact that they&#8217;re going through a divorce. I remember when Brittany Spears was going through a divorce and the uproar that created at the courthouse. I also remember when Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin were going through their divorce. That created a stir too. I&#8217;m currently handling a paternity case in front of the judge who handled the Basinger/Baldwin divorce.</p>
<p>Divorce just like stress can happen to anyone! In the 90s, I went through my own divorce in New Jersey. It was challenging but I had a good strategy and plan that helped me get through it. Having a good strategy, plan and advisors make navigating through this difficult process much more manageable.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s 3 things every person going through a divorce will benefit from:</p>
<ul>
<li>Compassion and support through the divorce process instead of judgment</li>
<li>Essential oils to help them relax at night (ie lavender oil, peace &amp; calming oil, frankincense oil)</li>
<li>Daily exercise (walking, stretching, etc.) to help release stress from their muscles and body</li>
</ul>
<p>Ultimately, divorce is a time for transformation so going through it with a good strategy and plan is a good thing.</p>
